Role Description

As a Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering Intern specializing in life-science instrumentation, you will contribute to the development and optimization of innovative cell culture products. Responsibilities include assisting with mechanical design, performing computer-aided design (CAD) tasks, manufacturing process development, hands-on production support and maintenance, and participating in vendor management and assembly processes. You will also work on engineering problem-solving and prototype development. The onsite internship is located in the greater Chicago area, with the opportunity for limited remote work (10–20%). This is a very hands-on role working with the core founding team, with the opportunity to get direct insight into a new startup's operations.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Master's or PhD program in Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering (or recently graduated)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving instincts; comfortable working independently in a startup environment
