This open-source software repository provides a growing suite of tools for biological cellular image and time-lapse analysis, with support for both 2D and 3D cell-culture systems. The database
How the popularity rank is calculated
The popularity rank is computed in two steps.
1. Scoring. Each tool receives a popularity score (0–100) from three weighted factors:
- GitHub stars — 40%. Normalized so 0–1000 stars map to 0–50 points; 1000+ stars map to 50–100 points.
- Recent publications (last 2 years, PubMed) — 30%. Normalized so 0–10 publications map to 0–30 points; 10+ map to 30–50 points.
- Existing popularity score — 30%.
2. Ranking. Tools are sorted by score in descending order and assigned ranks, with rank 1 being the most popular. Tools with identical scores receive the same rank, and the next rank is skipped accordingly.
